Milano, 8 September 2021 -  EQUITA, the leading independent investment bank in Italy, once again topped the well-renowned rankings published by Institutional Investor, confirming the Group’s leadership in research, sales and trading and corporate access.

The Equita Research Team, led by Luigi de Bellis and Domenico Ghilotti, ranked first in the “Italy Research: Small and Mid-Cap Stocks” category, confirming its pivotal role for Italian and international investors when investment decisions on small and mid-cap listed companies are needed. The team also came in second in the “Overall Italy Research” ranking – first among Italian independent brokers. 93% of the total votes received by Equita (94 out of 101) were in the higher part of the valuation range (score of 4 or 5 out of a maximum of 5) and 75% of votes (76 out of 101) were excellent (score of 5 out of 5).

The Sales & Trading team, led by the Head of Sales & Trading Fabio Arcari and the Co-Heads of Global Markets Vincenzo Abbagnano and Cristiano Rho, ranked second in the “Overall Italy: All-Europe Generalist Sales Team” category and first among Italian independent brokers.

The team also ranked second in the “Overall Italy: Corporate & Expert Meetings” category for its corporate access activities, first among Italian independent brokers, through which it arranges meetings, sector conferences and videoconferences, promoting dialogue opportunities between investors and listed companies.

In general, as a confirmation of the overall strong positioning of the Group in the Italian market, Equita ranked second in the “Overall Broker – Italy (weighted by commissions)” aggregated ranking, first in terms of number of votes cast by investors, with more than 90% of total votes received by Equita (288 out of 318) in the higher part of the valuation range (score of 4 or 5 out of a maximum of 5) and 74% of votes (234 out of 318) in the excellent scoreband (score of 5 out of 5).

This important achievement has been made possible thanks to the continuous collaboration between the research team and the trading floor – areas that have continued to invest in people and service to clients, and that as of today counts more than 50 professionals in total – and confirms the strategic role of research; the latter remains central for all business divisions and a key distinguishing factor in the Italian market when comparing Equita to international peers, as well as an important activity to highlight the investment opportunities in Italy to the international financial community.
